The slightly raised border lip designates the area for placing plates and bowls, and cups fit neatly into the ears of the character. The placemat is generously sized to give a high chance of mess staying on the mat and your dinner table being protected. When dinner is over the placemats can be simply and easily wiped off in the sink, or they are also dishwasher safe.
